Employment Type: Full-time in a leading Medical Diagnostics Institute
Overview: A leading medical diagnostics institute in Hamburg is seeking an experienced and dedicated Netzwerkingenieur/ Network Engineer to join their IT team.
This role involves the support, installation, maintenance, and configuration of our network and security environment. The ideal candidate will be fluent in German and have strong technical expertise, particularly in LAN/WLAN infrastructure, network security, and a commitment to maintaining a robust and secure IT infrastructure in a highly sensitive healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Support & Maintenance: Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for the network environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, with a focus on LAN/WLAN infrastructure.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize the LAN/WLAN network, preferably using HPE Aruba.
- Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls and security protocols, with experience in Fortinet solutions being a strong advantage.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive measures to minimise downtime.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate network documentation, configurations, and security protocols. Provide regular status updates and reports on the network environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT support and security teams, to ensure alignment on network and security protocols.
- Compliance: Ensure the network adheres to all relevant regulations and compliance standards, particularly those specific to healthcare IT and patient data protection (e.g., GDPR).
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest network technologies and security threats, providing recommendations for continuous improvement of the infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Language Skills: Fluent in German (both written and spoken).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering roles, preferably within a healthcare or diagnostics environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with LAN/WLAN infrastructure, ideally with HPE Aruba .
- Proficient in network security components, with hands-on experience in Fortinet.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and security protocols.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HPE Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco, or CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
- Team Player: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
