Job Description
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? Clearfield Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intermediate to Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our well-established client who has experienced year-on-year growth since their inception. Key Responsibilities include:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects.
* Manage project finances, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
* Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks and issues.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulations.
* Provide expert advice on contractual matters to clients and project teams.
* Prepare detailed bills of quantities and material take-offs.
* Value completed work and arrange payments to subcontractors.
* Mentor junior team members and provide guidance where necessary.
The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and experience;
* 5+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with exposure to a range of residential and commercial projects.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. RICS or CIOB membership (preferred but not essential).
* Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT/NEC).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
* Proficient in using relevant QS software (e.g., CostX, CATO).
* Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
