Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Shift Lead with HV/LV expertise to oversee operations at a leading data centre in the Berkshire area. In this key role, you will lead a team of engineers, ensuring the highest standards of reliability, safety, and efficiency across critical infrastructure. As a Shift Lead, you will be the first point of contact for on-shift issues and will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of shift engineers, ensuring a strong commitment to safety, performance, and technical excellence.
* Critical Electrical Systems Management: Take lead responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HV/LV systems, UPS, switchgear, and backup generators.
* Incident and Fault Management: Provide immediate response and expert resolution for technical issues, coordinating team efforts and escalating as required.
* BMS and EMS Oversight: Monitor and manage the building and energy management systems to maintain optimal environmental and operational stability.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work is conducted according to safety standards and company protocols, adhering to health and safety regulations and completing risk assessments.
* Operational Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all activities, including shift logs, incident reports, and maintenance documentation to ensure smooth handover and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills:
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent, with HV/LV authorization and certification.
* Proven experience in a critical environment, ideally within a data centre, with strong technical knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
* Previous experience in a leadership role, with the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a team effectively.
* Strong understanding of BMS/EMS systems, health and safety procedures, and risk management.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
