Due to the expansion of their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join their team at their Dungeness site.
The Role and its Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer in the nuclear sector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction operations, from planning through to handover. You will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of project activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, and driving quality throughout the project lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will include:
Health, Safety & Environmental Management: Taking ownership of HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) practices, ensuring compliance with all current legislation and promoting a safe working environment.
Operational Leadership: Managing the day-to-day operations on site, ensuring effective coordination between design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Project Execution: Overseeing construction phasing, contingency planning, and testing procedures to ensure the project runs smoothly and meets all milestones.
Team Development: Working closely with the site team to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring all members are aligned with project objectives and share responsibility for success.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Championing clear and open communication channels across all levels of the business to ensure the project runs efficiently and all stakeholders are kept informed.

Skills and Qualifications
Experience & Expertise:
A strong understanding of services discipline and technical knowledge relevant to nuclear construction projects.
Extensive experience in managing construction operations, including phasing, contingency planning, and handover procedures.
In-depth knowledge of current HSE and CDM legislation, with hands-on experience in method statements, accident/incident investigation, and implementing safety improvements.
Leadership & Management:
Proven ability to lead teams effectively, with a collaborative and results-focused approach.
Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
Technical & Commercial Acumen:
Highly numerate, with a commercial mindset and an understanding of the financial and technical aspects of project delivery.
Ability to manage quality assurance processes, understand organizational management systems, and implement business management practices effectively.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Able to champion open and inclusive communication across project teams and the wider business.
Salary and Package
The company is offering a competitive salary of £62,000 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
