Senior Architect/ Associate Director

A highly respected rural development consultancy seeks a Senior Architect to join their well-established team. Known for its commitment to rural growth and sustainability, this organisation partners with clients across the UK to deliver projects that add lasting value to countryside communities- ranging from creating sustainable residential developments to designing leisure destinations that celebrate natural heritage.
Driven by a vision of rural prosperity, the consultancy combines strategic planning, environmental stewardship, and inspired design to create unique solutions for clients in fields like tourism, conservation, rural business, and housing. Projects are rooted in a deep respect for the rural landscape, addressing the unique challenges and needs of each area. The team is well-versed in navigating regulatory frameworks and planning requirements, ensuring each project is feasible and beneficial to the community.
The role requires on-site collaboration at the Skipton office 2-3 days a week, fostering hands-on team engagement and direct project involvement.
Skills, Experience & Responsibilities for the role of Senior Architect/ Associate Director:
Lead full project cycles, ensuring creative quality and alignment with timelines.
designs that reflect the character of rural settings while meeting sustainability goals.
Engage closely with clients to understand their vision, present designs, and manage expectations.
Design with an emphasis on reducing environmental impact, aligning with the company's sustainability goals.
Work with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, environmental consultants, and economic advisors, to ensure comprehensive project support.
Guide junior architects in design processes and sustainable best practices.
Substantial UK based post qualification experience, ideally with a focus on rural and conservation projects.
Proficiency in key design software, with knowledge of building regulations, sustainability certifications, and conservation practices.
Registered with ARB.
