The Role
The business is seeking an R&D Engineer with a strong emphasis on mechanical design and mechanical engineering to support new production introduction working through the required project gateways and interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders.
This is a permanent position working onsite, Monday to Friday in Herefordshire to spearhead engineering excellence and to provide mechanical engineering subject matter expertise to the overall design and development process.
The R&D Engineer will play a direct role in project management and project engineering work packages for NPI and will support external customers to accurately capture and deliver engineering requirements.
The role has a strong focus on innovation within design for manufacture (DFM) processes and deliver engineered solutions that are safe, fit for purpose, sustainable in terms of both material and process and market leaders in their sector.
The Person
The R&D Engineer will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a robust design pedigree ideally developing using SolidWorks. You will be highly conversant with customer liaison to drive product innovate and be well versed in NPI processes such as FMEA and associated risk assessments.
The R&D Engineer will ideally hold a relevant qualification in engineering or a near neighbour subject area in addition to proven experience bringing new products to life in manufacturing context. You will develop and enjoy strong working relationships with the design and engineering teams within the business and be approachable and reachable to customers.
