We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our fast-paced Finance team as Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant DOE. The salary is circa £35,000 per annum + annual bonus and excellent benefits including a 4.5 day working week.
We are happy to offer either hybrid or on site working depending on your preference. Applicants MUST be based within a commutable distance of our office in Northfield, Birmingham.
This role will take ownership of the delivery of the month-end management accounts and support with business reporting and analysis. Applicants MUST have previous experience of the production of management accounts and analysis and insights.
As a business we welcome innovation, so we’d love someone with a proactive, value add attitude who wants to help drive us forward on our journey.
Ideally this person will be part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA (happy to support through further exams) or will have graduated with an Accounting Degree. However, we are also more than happy for this person to be qualified by experience.
Previous experience within a similar role is essential along with extensive Excel experience.
About The Role
At Flourish we are a well established successful business but are still a small / medium sized team and so whilst the core responsibilities of this role are Financial, this role does also include reporting and analysis on a weekly, monthly and annual basis, to help drive company performance.
Responsibilities will include:
- Production of management accounts – producing monthly P&L and balance sheet, posting all journals accordingly – essential
- Management information - Produce weekly flash reports to support informed business decisons and provide relevant insights – essential
- Purchase ledger - posting all purchase invoices and production of payment run files
- Budget preparation - assist with preparation of annual budget working closely with budget holders and Head of Finance
- Balance sheet reconciliations - perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
- VAT returns - preparation of quarterly VAT return
- Cash flow forecasting - production of weekly cash flow forecast
- Answer all ad hoc payroll queries weekly
- Continuous improvement - Identify and drive financial efficiency improvement opportunities
About You
Previous finance experience is essential in this role, as are proven abilities with Excel (VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs & PivotTables as a minimum).
Experience within the recruitment sector is ideal but by no means essential.
