My client is part of an established, privately owned group, turning over £155M, and has been trading for 30 + years. They are financially stable and own 3 offices in London and own all of their plant. The part of the group I am recruiting for has been trading for 10 years and is currently turning over £20M. They specialise in Civil Engineering & Infrastructure and subcontract for well-established contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Hochtief, and Morgan Sindall, they also work as a principal contractor for the AWE. They strive for continued growth and quality; they look to grow up to a £50M contractor over the next 5 years. They have a brilliant and experienced management team in place, a management team who have all been with the company for 10+ years. The types of works they cover involve RC structures, earthworks, groundworks, paving, demolition, landscaping, and drainage. The projects they work on range in value from £2M - to £15M.
About the opportunity
Due to the company’s ongoing expansion and very healthy pipeline regarding work they’re now in a position where they can bring another member on board to join the health and safety team. The successful candidate will be in charge of using the companies own health and safety policies and putting them into practice, preparing their own risk assessments and going on site to make sure everything is safe and that the members of staff who are on site are following company procedures and legal procedures.
You will be working within the infrastructure division on a variety of projects. The projects that you’ll be involved in will be working on the multi utility diversion works for HS2. HS2 is going to be one of the biggest and most challenging projects within the UK’s rail construction industry history. The initial stage of the project is a 3 and a half year contract which is likely to be extended.
To be successful in this role you’ll have to show certain skills, characteristics and follow certain duties such as: Make sure that all members of staff are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and to provide advice when it’s needed. You’ll be in charge of carrying out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
Benefits & Rewards
You will be rewarded with a competitive salary ranging between £70,000 - £80,000 + package. On top of this, my client is a well-established & well-respected specialist sub-contractor, this means you’ll be joining a financially stable contractor that can offer you long-term stability.
About the requirements
