Job Description

Overview


Element has an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Specialist to join our Cincinnati office.In this role you will oversee the benefits operations and collaborate on leave administration for a multi-national company supporting employees in the U.S. and Canada, working in a high volume and dedicated customer-support environment.


Responsibilities




  • Apply knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations to benefit programs




  • Drive implementation of policies and processes to ensure compliance and best practices




  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information




  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data and resolve issues in an effective manner




  • Oversee employee enrollment with carriers and approve life status changes. Research and resolve carrier feed issues




  • Co-Lead Benefits Open Enrollment: system setup, testing, enrollment event, carrier management




  • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries




  • Work closely with the Colleague Experience team to administer leave-of-absence data to support the leave requests: medical, personal, disability and FMLA for U.S. and Canada




  • Respond to benefits data requests and perform benefit data analysis




  • Administer Element’s 401(k) plan. Work closely with payroll on the 401(k) ongoing operations.




Skills / Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience




  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Benefits Administration




  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision




  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and tact




  • Exceptional teaming and collaboration skills with HR partners, benefits broker, and benefits carriers




  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred




  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word & Outlook




  • Leave Administration experience a plus




  • Knowledge of US Federal and state-specific leave and paid family leave laws preferred




  • Knowledge of Canada Federal and province-specific leave and paid family leave laws preferred




  • Knowledge of Canadian French a plus
