Our community is a tight knit group of remarkable individuals interested in intellectual inquiry and making a difference in the world.RequirementsPosition #: P86773Full-time: 40 hoursPay: $21.55 per hourLocation: Main Campus, 3700 "O" Street, Washington, DCJob OverviewThe Bus Driver serves primarily in a driver position with multifaceted tasks as staffing shortages are identified on each shift, contributing to the safe and efficient mass transit operations for the patrons of the University. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:Operate all sizes of University transit vehicles along published routes, on campus, and scheduled charters in compliance with local, federal and University regulations governing transit vehicle operationsConduct pre-trip inspections and performs routine maintenance to ensure the vehicle is clean and safe to operateServe in a designated emergency position that requires them to report to work during inclement weather at regularly scheduled time, regardless of whether university is closed, opening late, or closing earlyWork InteractionsThe Bus Driver reports to the Director of Transportation Management, along with Senior Operations Manager, 3 Traffic Controllers, 8 Parking Attendants, 30 Bus Driver II, 2 Bus Driver III, 2 Grounds keepers, 1 Parking Coordinator,1 Account Analyst I, and 1 Operations Manager.Requirements and QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalencyAt least six months of experience operating passenger buses and vans or similar public service or an equivalent combination of training and experiencePossession of a Commercial Driver's License - Class B with air brake qualifications and passenger endorsement from DC, MD or VA.If outside metropolitan area, willingness to transfer licenseAbility to pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol testsWork ModeThis position has been designated as On-Campus.
