Lead Database Engineer - SSIS/SSAS

Job Description : - The Database Senior Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of MG2 data gathering, data. analysis, and strategic decision-making. - They must possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in technical tools, and excellent communication abilities. - This role requires effective leadership, adaptability to changing environments, and a commitment to ethical conduct and data privacy. - The ideal candidate will have deep domain knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Essential Functions and Responsibilities : - Create SQL Stored procs and Functions to perform complex transformations. - Understand data requirements and design optimal pipelines to fulfil the use-cases. - Tuning and optimizing data processes. - Code Deployments to production environment, troubleshoot production data issues. - Team span, responsible for handling a team of 5 to 10. - Develops and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with other departments within the organization to enhance the integration of division products and services. - Manages the team's resources efficiently to maximize productivity and effectiveness. - Ensures the team consistently meets deadlines and delivers on its commitments. - Demonstrates awareness of risks associated with the team's work and proactively takes steps to mitigate those risks. - Leads and mentors other team members, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for skill and knowledge development. Required Skills/Abilities : - Proven ability to analyse information and anticipate outcomes to choose the best solutions. - Deep understanding of the team's work and the technologies (SSIS, SSAS, C#, TSQL) used to do. - This includes knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and data quality assurance. - Understanding of software development lifecycles - including waterfall, agile, etc ability to motivate and inspire team members, as well as provide them with the guidance and support they need to be successful. - Bachelor's and/or master's degree. - 5 years of relevant experience leading a team of SQL developers. - Minimum 8 years of experience working in MS SQL Server mainly in ETL side (SSIS, SSAS). - Knowledge of C# would be added advantage. - Hands-on experience on the following technologies : 1. Writing complex T-SQL queries. 2. Building ETL/ELT/data pipelines using SSIS. 3. Query analysis and optimization. - Excellent knowledge of T-SQL. - Exposure to DevOps methodology. (ref:hirist.tech)
