AWS Platform Engineer

Job Description : We are seeking a skilled Senior Platform Engineer with a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on AWS, to support our Data Engineering teams. This role requires hands-on experience in designing and deploying serverless architectures using AWS services, creating robust IaC solutions, and ensuring operational stability. The ideal candidate will lead a small, agile team, providing guidance on best practices and scalable design. Traditional Data Engineering backgrounds will not be a fit, as this role focuses specifically on platform engineering and infrastructure. Must Skills : - Minimum 5 years as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS. - Proficiency in AWS services: S3, Lambda, Glue, SQS, IAM, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, Event Bridge, Step Functions, EMR (serverless), Redshift (serverless), API Gateway, and/or AppSync. - Strong expertise in Python (Object-Oriented) for platform development, including Python Unit Tests. - Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation (CFM) and AWS CDK. - Knowledge of Data Engineering principles using AWS services. - API Integration : Experience with REST API creation and management. - Testing : Experience in Business Driven Development (BDD) and/or Integration Testing. Additional Knowledge : - Familiarity with Azure AD and OAuth2 protocols. - Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach. Additional Skills : - Experience with AWS LakeFormation, DMS, DataSync, Appflow. - Familiarity with Node.js and React for occasional frontend integration tasks. Key Responsibilities : - Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver IaC solutions. - Develop, deploy, and manage infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation and CDK. - Lead and mentor a small team (2-pizza squad) in delivering scalable and reliable serverless architectures. - Maintain a strong focus on serverless design principles, building for stability and scalability. - Create and optimize RESTful APIs to facilitate data integration. - Ensure continuous integration and deployment pipelines are implemented for seamless updates.
