Senior Engineering Manager - Python Programming

Position Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in driving innovation across our student services platforms. You will lead a team of 20 engineers, playing a critical role in shaping and executing technology strategy. This role requires a strategic leader with a passion for technology and a proven track record of delivering large-scale, impactful projects. Your leadership will be key to enhancing global services, making education more accessible and empowering students worldwide. Key Responsibilities : - Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of engineers across multiple disciplines, including front-end, back-end, and DevOps, fostering an environment of continuous improvement. - Define and implement a forward-thinking engineering strategy that supports the company's business objectives and drives innovation in student accommodation, financial services, and counselling platforms. - Oversee the execution of complex, large-scale projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outputs in collaboration with product and design teams. - Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technology-driven solutions that improve the customer experience and enhance operational efficiency. - Ensure engineering practices adhere to the highest industry standards, security protocols, and compliance regulations, with a focus on data integrity and business continuity. - Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts to deliver key engineering and infrastructure solutions. - Scale, structure, and nurture a high-performing engineering team while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive culture. Required Qualifications and Experience : - Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. - Experience : Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role. - Digital Transformation : Proven track record in leading large-scale digital transformation projects, particularly within the financial services or prop-tech industries. - Technical Expertise : Proficiency in Python, Django, and Django Rest Framework; experience with version control systems such as Git. Extensive experience in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and Agile methodologies. - Industry Knowledge : Proven experience delivering complex, large-scale projects, ideally within the financial services or prop-tech space. - Team Leadership : Hands-on experience in managing teams across different engineering disciplines. - Communication Skills : Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and manage diverse teams. Essential Skills : - Strong proficiency in Python, Django, and Django Rest Framework. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native architectures. - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines. - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex systems. - Strong business acumen, with the ability to align technical strategies with business goals.
