Cloud Security Architect - Azure

Salary : 25 - 35 LPA Purpose of the role : Responsible for securing the IT estate with sound design principles that underpin all security operations activity and designing the structure of the cloud environment, ensuring security, stability and performance meet agreed standards and guardrails. Responsibilities : - To review, develop, maintain and implement cloud architecture strategies for the organisation's cloud platform in Azure that aligns with business objectives, security requirements and scalability demands - To ensure that our cloud environments adhere to best practice, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements i.e. GDPR - Create and maintain documentation and diagrams on cloud, security architecture, standards and patterns and take an active role in coaching and peer review of architecture artefacts produced by others - Work alongside 2 nd line colleagues to architect IT cloud and application infrastructure to meet group security standards and policies, identify gaps and collaborate with stakeholders to address issues - Provide cloud and security knowledge and direction across architecture and wider IT services and functions, ensuring understanding and expectations are clear - Collaborate with IT services and functions to deliver secure and robust platforms and applications that meet customer needs and protect company from cyber security threats, balancing short term needs with long term ambitions - To collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and secure cloud solutions. - To provide direction and governance for IT projects and initiatives ensuring security, availability, resilience and performance standards are met - To design, implement and maintain security controls and monitoring tools to detect and respond to Cyber security threats - Give direction to and consume data from security analysts and monitoring tools to continuously enhance security posture across the IT environment. - To undertake security assessments of existing and evolving cloud infrastructure and applications, identifying risks and suggesting mitigations, tracking progress to remediate. - Investigate and understand latest security standards, emerging threats and evolving technologies to identify opportunities to continuously enhance the cloud and security service - To undertake ad hoc projects and duties as and when required, to support the needs of the business or to achieve departmental objectives. Critical skills required : - Ability to problem solve with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions. - Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work in the detail and undertake impact assessments of activity in a methodical way before acting - Organised and proficient in ways of working - Critical knowledge required - Detailed knowledge of Azure cloud & security solutions - Knowledge of emerging cloud technologies, security trends, principles, standards and best practice. - Understanding of Agile project management methodologies (e.g Scrum, Kanban, SaFe) Critical behaviours required : - Ability to remain calm under pressure - Able to work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels - Continuous focus on impact to customers and users - Collaborate to make informed decisions and display clear accountability & ownership - Celebrate success and learn and improve from mistakes - Provide timely and specific feedback to support growth Essential : - Relevant Azure or architecture certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer) Desirable : - Appropriate qualification at Degree level or equivalent Experience required : Essential : - Proven experience (a minimum of 2 years) in a similar role within the financial services or related industry - Experience of architecture methodologies/frameworks and best practice (e.g TOGAF) - Experience architecting solutions and producing domain design patterns (e.g Data platform, application platform, security platforms) Desirable : - Experience in Azure cloud architecture and security design, implementation and maintenance (ref:hirist.tech)
