Cloud Platform Engineer - Azure Infrastructure

Responsibilities : - Azure Cloud and services within Azure. - Native PaaS services, IaaS and SaaS services. - Azure networking, storage, compute services. - Azure AD Connect, Azure Active Directory, PowerShell, Azure AKS, Azure Automation accounts and Azure Policy (Governance). - Experience with automation in a cloud environment - Develop or modify code to automate tasks or meet business requirements. - Along with automating repetitive tasks in a cloud environment. - Experience in migrating solutions from on-premises and other cloud environments to Microsoft Azure is mandatory. - Demonstrable experience with using Cloud Migration tools. - Microsoft : Active Directory (Group policies) hardening, LAPS, Tiering, SCCM/WSUS, BitLocker, PKI/CA. - Working experience on Linux : Red Hat, Centos and Ubuntu Linux. - The candidate will work in collaboration with the Architecture team, Delivery team and Vendors works towards understanding requirements and planning the delivery of the solution. - The candidate will also work towards providing Level 3 support for Cloud, Windows and Linux workloads. - The Cloud / Infrastructure SME plays a leading role in scheduling implementation, liaising with all concerned to ensure that installation priorities are met, documentation is completed and disruption to the customer is minimized. - The Cloud / Infrastructure SME will also contribute to the design (both High Level and Low Level) under the guidance of the Architecture team. - Ensure the security reliability, scalability, and performance of Azure based solutions. - Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform - Implement and maintain Azure resource management, security, and monitoring solutions to ensure optimal performance and availability. - Build, deployment/configuration of technical solution following best practices, hardening and testing of the solution. - Where required, to oversee the task performed by the vendor. - Reviews and automate tasks to meet business requirements and eliminate repetition. - Monitor and troubleshoot Azure environments to identify and resolve performance issues, system failures, and other operational issues. - Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for Azure-based systems and applications. - Provides Level 3 support for Cloud, Windows and Linux workloads which requires detailed review and analysis backed by a structured thinking process. - Ensure quality in internal and external client-oriented documentation. Skills & Experience Needed : - 5 - 7 years related IT experience with a majority in Cloud environments. - Proven experience as an Azure Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure. - Experience in working in an environment to manage cloud platform operations at scale. - Experience in working in a senior technical support capacity (L3). - Effective communication, facilitation and influencing skills - Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely. - Knowledge and experience implementing Microsoft infrastructure technologies with best practices. - Knowledge and experience implementing Linux server services with best practices. - Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPN, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls. - Ability to write scripts in PowerShell and a good understanding of automation in the cloud. - Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates or Terraform. - IT Infrastructure deployment experience including troubleshooting, design, and implementation. - Experience on transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams (ref:hirist.tech)
