Project Manager - SQL

Role Overview : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL PM to lead the effort in supporting MS Data products and services and delivering better end customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development, database management, and a keen understanding of product management processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customer success, to deliver innovative and high-quality database products that meet customer needs. Key Responsibilities : - Support delivery partner team and work closely with engineering teams to prioritize features, bugs, and technical debt while ensuring timely support to end customer. - Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure the product addresses key use cases. - Lead initiatives to optimize SQL performance, scalability, and reliability. - Provide deep technical knowledge in SQL databases, helping guide troubleshooting, and architecture decisions. - Support hiring and training of new resources to make them self sufficient to work on the support tasks. - Oversee the creation of support documentation and training materials for internal teams and customers. - Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. - Advanced degree preferred. - 5 years of experience in product/program management, with a focus on supporting database or SQL-related products. - Deep understanding of SQL databases, query optimization, and data management systems. - Hands-on experience with relational databases (e., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), Azure and familiarity with database performance tuning. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex technical problems. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with NoSQL databases and other database technologies. - Experience in working in a SaaS or cloud-based product environment. - Knowledge of data security, backup strategies, and database replication techniques (ref:hirist.tech)
