Cloud FinOps Financial Analyst

Position : Cloud FinOps Financial Analyst Location : Pan India Experience : 6 Years Job Summary : The Cloud FinOps Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing and optimizing cloud costs, aligning cloud consumption with business objectives, and driving accountability across departments. This role involves collaborating with finance, IT, and engineering teams to implement cloud cost management strategies and provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities : Cloud Financial Management : - Oversee cloud budgets, forecasts, and actuals for cloud service usage (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). - Monitor and optimize cloud spend through detailed cost analysis and reporting. - Develop and maintain cloud financial models to forecast future cloud expenditure. - Align cloud spending with business priorities, creating a balance between cost control and innovation. FinOps Strategy : - Lead the development and execution of the Cloud FinOps (Financial Operations) strategy to maximize cost efficiency. - Implement industry best practices to optimize cloud resources and increase value from cloud investments. - Establish governance around cloud usage, implementing policies for cost allocation, tagging, and optimization. Cross-functional Collaboration : - Work with engineering and IT teams to align resource usage with financial targets. - Collaborate with finance teams to ensure cloud costs are incorporated into overall financial planning. - Develop cost transparency by ensuring proper cloud billing allocation across business units. Optimization and Automation : - Identify and drive cloud cost-saving opportunities (e.g., reserved instances, right-sizing resources, scaling solutions). - Leverage tools and automation to improve visibility into cloud costs, usage patterns, and spend optimization. - Evaluate and recommend new technologies or vendors that provide better cost efficiencies for cloud management. Reporting and Analysis : - Prepare regular financial and operational reports on cloud usage, spending, and trends for stakeholders. - Provide actionable insights through variance analysis of cloud costs vs. budget/forecast. - Analyze and report on key FinOps KPIs (e.g., Cost per Product, Cost per Feature, Cloud Cost Allocation). Compliance and Governance : - Ensure compliance with financial regulations, cloud cost governance, and FinOps best practices. - Regularly audit cloud environments to ensure adherence to cost control measures and avoid unexpected expenses.
