Job Description
An HPC (High-Performance Computing) Delivery Engineer specializes in deploying and managing HPC solutions. This role typically focuses on ensuring that systems are delivered to clients effectively and efficiently. This role can involve a mix of technical skills, project management, and customer interaction. A strong collaboration with the R&D Team is key to understanding product specifications. You will be involved in the deployment of integrated hardware/software computing solutions. Primary responsibilities: System Deployment : Installing and configuring HPC clusters and associated software, ensuring functionality and requirements. Troubleshooting : Identifying and resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity in HPC environments. Documentation : Creating and maintaining documentation related to hardware specifications, configurations, and delivery processes. Client Interaction : Working directly with clients to understand their hardware needs and providing technical support during and after installation. Collaboration : Working with developers, researchers, and IT teams to support various projects that rely on HPC resources. Working with vendors and other partners when projects involve a mix of solutions. Skills and Qualifications: 2 years’ experience in the role. Technical Expertise : Proficiency in hardware systems, peripheral types, connectivity, and assembly or maintenance of server components. Proficiency in Linux system administration and knowledge of Linux-based Operating systems like Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ubuntu Linux. Proficiency in shell scripting. Knowledge of the FHS and package management systems. Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues effectively. Customer Service : Strong communication skills to interact with clients and understand their needs. Flexibility : Willingness to travel frequently to different customer sites. Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of how containers work. Proficiency with Ansible and Python. Knowledge of the HPC domain, what it is and what problems it addresses. Knowledge of basic HPC infrastructure components like scheduling, identity, and parallel file systems. Installation of libraries and applications from source code. Proficiency with Git.
