About the Role As an Administrative Technician at Forvis Mazars, you will play a key role in assisting the tax team in handling mandates related to various tax credits and government incentives, particularly for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED). You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the processes related to tax credit claims and supporting the team in various administrative and technical tasks. To ensure your success, we will provide comprehensive support throughout your integration and ongoing work, specifically in technical aspects related to SR&ED and other tax incentives. This guidance will help you build confidence and expertise in these specialized areas, allowing you to thrive in your role. Your responsibilities Compile costs related to tax credit claims using Excel and other specialized software, ensuring accuracy and data integrity. Collaborate with tax and technical staff involved in each project, asking relevant questions and taking detailed notes. Complete tax credit forms through TaxPrep and ensure timely submission of all required forms to the relevant tax authorities. Manage and submit prescribed forms (e.g., T661, authorizations) to tax authorities and follow up on related interactions, such as additional requests or audits. Tracking contributions, correspondence, and client accounts with tax authorities. Assisting with invoicing, service agreements, and other administrative tasks. Contribute to process improvement initiatives while maintaining focus on task execution and quality. Your Skills and Experience You’re probably a match if you have: A diploma in accounting (DEC) or equivalent. At least 3 years of relevant experience in an office setting, ideally in accounting or tax. An interest in SR&ED tax credits and other government incentive programs (experience is an asset). Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a keen ability to learn and adapt. A demonstrated ability to work independently, with a capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks asynchronously. Excellent verbal and written proficiency in both French and English, as we work with clients across and outside of Quebec. Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with other specialized software. A test on Excel and invoicing will be part of the selection process .
