My client who are a highly specialised company working across a wide range of industries including electric vehicles, medical devices and even robotics are looking for an Embedded Linux Kernel Developer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop C++/Qt/QML-based applications for cutting-edge, networked industrial products.
• Work closely with customers to analyse system requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with their needs.
• Assist in the creation of modern applications and user interfaces (GUIs) for advanced industrial products.
• Contribute to hardware-related development, focusing on product-specific methods, libraries, and tools.
• Design and implement middleware services to facilitate communication between networked devices.
• Configure and integrate embedded Linux systems, ensuring seamless functionality.
• Port legacy or proprietary functions and protocols to modern platforms, maintaining system integrity.
• Conduct module and system tests, perform code reviews, and document systems to maintain high standards.

Required Qualifications:

• A university degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, coupled with relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience in application development using C++ (11/14/17) with strong proficiency in Qt, QML,
• Solid understanding of interprocess communication methods such as D-Bus and Linux POSIX-IPC.
• Familiarity with multimedia frameworks like GStreamer and experience with OPC UA is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, with hands-on experience using embedded boards (e.g., BeagleBoard, Raspberry Pi), shell scripting, and command-line tools.
• Initial experience with embedded Linux distributions like Yocto Project (BitBake), Buildroot, or PTXdist is advantageous.
• Ideally, experience with security concepts (e.g., Secure Boot) and system-level programming in Rust.
• Proficiency in German and English, with at least B2/intermediate level in both.
