Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Salary Range: £55,000 - £70,000
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager with a solid background in external sales within the IT infrastructure or data network sector. You will play a vital role in expanding our presence in the telecom and security marketplaces, targeting installers, end-users, and specifiers. The role is UK-wide, with a focus on the London area. You will be responsible for proactively developing relationships, building brand awareness, and driving product sales within the fiber optic and copper cabling solutions market for data centres and office builds.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Growth & Relationship Management
Meet or exceed gross profit targets by developing and growing key accounts and expanding our customer base.
Foster long-term partnerships with end-users and installers, delivering tailored technical product proposals to secure business and build revenue.
Work closely with suppliers, installers, and end-users to track and drive demand from project inception to delivery.
Market & Project Development
Increase brand and product awareness with installers and specifiers on diverse projects across multiple sectors.
Proactively expand the customer database by identifying new contacts within existing and prospective customer accounts.
Build and develop a sales pipeline, ensuring alignment with company targets and future growth strategies.
Project Execution & Customer Satisfaction
Support project delivery by coordinating internal resources and supplier actions to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and successful project execution.
Provide value-added service by understanding customer needs, goals, timelines, and budget to position the company as a trusted partner in technical support and customer service.Key Performance Indicators:
Achievement of gross profit targets
Generation of new customers and development of existing key accounts
Growth in sales across the product range
Development and management of a quantifiable sales pipelineQualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
A degree or HNC/HND in electronic/electrical engineering, computing, or a related technical field is desirable.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in external sales within IT infrastructure or data network industries, with a record of delivering profitable sales growth.
Expertise in selling technical solutions, especially to installers, specifiers, and end-users, with strong industry relationships.
Familiarity with security and related technology solutions.
Skills & Attributes:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a confident, dynamic approach.
Ability to build credibility and trust with customers, viewed as a knowledgeable advisor in the industry.
High level of commercial awareness and numeracy with a strategic mindset for business development.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on achieving results, working well under pressure, and possessing a good sense of humor.
Comfortable with remote working, team collaboration, and frequent travel (up to 3 days per week).This role is perfect for a motivated individual with a technical sales background who can drive relationships, exceed targets, and deliver high levels of customer service in a growing and competitive market
