Senior Quantity Surveyor - Bristol

Company Overview: An established and dynamic construction company is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will manage projects from contract award through to final account agreement, ensuring all commercial and contractual aspects are controlled efficiently to maximize returns.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide support and guidance on all commercial issues within the project(s).

* Prepare internal CVR monthly reports to satisfy the requirements of the Commercial Manager/Senior Commercial Manager.

* Maintain up-to-date Cost to Complete and Risk Register for project(s).

* Prepare monthly Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation, in accordance with the contract.

* Prepare monthly Cost Reports to the Client with full supporting documentation.

* Calculate earned value and project detailed outturn costs monthly.

* Manage subcontract and key material(s) procurement schedules.

* Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyze subcontractor quotations, make recommendations for subcontract award, and write subcontract orders for approval.

* Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from preparation of requisitions to agreement of final accounts.

* Manage Early Warning Notices/change notices and associated registers rigorously.

* Negotiate and agree Compensation Events/variations, extension of time claims, etc.

* Identify and manage all commercial risks and opportunities and carry out value engineering exercises.

* Foster a culture of contractual awareness within the site team and ensure full contractual entitlement by managing records and change control.

* Utilize the focal point costing system for improved cost control and commercial reporting; ensure relevant personnel are trained to use the system effectively.

* Ensure all Group Procedures are strictly followed by the commercial team.

* Establish and maintain robust site records for all labor, plant, materials, preliminaries, etc., to support cost substantiation in the event of changes or delays.

* Prepare and agree on project final accounts.

* Undertake any other tasks as required by the Commercial Manager/Project Manager.

Qualifications & Certificates:

Chartered by RICS/CICES.

HND / Degree qualified in quantity surveying or a construction-related field.

CSCS card holder.

Full driving license.

Knowledge and Experience:

* Proven ability to build and maintain good working relationships at all levels.

* Experience managing people and liaising successfully with clients.

* Working knowledge of standard forms of contract and methods of measurement.

* Ability to handle challenging conversations and maintain team performance.

* Experience with a construction/engineering contractor.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* A team player who also works well independently.

* Organized and self-motivated, with effective workload management.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project.
