Manpower Recruitment are looking for an experienced Assistant Front of House Manager for a busy, established College in Oxford City Centre.
This is a Full-Time role, working 5/7 days including weekends/evenings and mornings.
The salary for the role will be £34292pa.
To be considered for the role you must have:
- Prior managerial experience in a senior position in a hotel or similar establishment of 4-5* quality
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Computer literacy: experience with databases and booking systems
- WSET wine qualification or similar
Overall Objective
To assist the front of House Manager in the organisation and supervision of all College catering services, ensuring the provision of the highest levels of service throughout the College during term time and vacations. Working with the Manager and the F&B supervisors to; support the successful delivery of food and beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities
Service standards
- Ensure that provision of services meet or exceed the expectation of college members and conference delegates
- Ensure service for each meal period to agreed standards of service, maintaining all food hygiene standards whilst ensuring all dietary requirement and allergens are correctly implemented
- Make suggestions to develop service standards to meet the changing needs of college and its customers
- Organise and direct each meal period so that staff are assigned according to service level needs
- Monitor the appearance of staff, ensure they are correctly uniformed and meet approved standards of appearance
- At the end of each meal period ensure wash up is clear and all service areas are clean and tidy
- Effectively and proactively communicate with other College departments as required
- Consistently monitor, anticipate and react to college members and customers’ needs in order to ensure maximum College members and guest satisfaction at all College events
- Drive the College van to support events taking place away from the main College site, if authorised.
Administration
- In the absence of the Manger check and respond in a timely manner to all emails regarding Hall catering services
- In the absence of the Manager prepare rota in consultation with the Catering Administrator, Hall, SCR, Bar and Café teams (including casual staff) whilst ensuring this is within pre-set budgetary limits
- Carry out regular monthly stock audit in Hall, SCR and Café
- Submit accurate time sheets and records of hours worked by all Hall staff and prepare staff wage sheets in conjunction with the Manager/ Catering Administrator for weekly sign-off by the Head Catering Services Manager
- Check the catering department’s internal and external bookings, from Kinetics (Kx) or the Meal Booking System from Mercury/Accurate Solutions
- Deliver an efficient administration support function to the Catering Administrator and Manager
- Liaise with Financial Controller regarding format and content of financial reporting for Finance team
