Job Description
Experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our Client’s Engineering team and implement the necessary vehicle security plan work products as defined in ISO 21434. You will work alongside the various design teams to ensure that "secure by design" processes are adopted leading to the launch of Cyber secure vehicles across their customer base.
Cyber Security Engineer Role:
• Help the business to define the various Cyber Security work products at each stage of the vehicle development lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and assistance to the engineering teams on the delivery of the vehicle cyber security work products.
• Drive the development of best practice procedures associated with secure vehicle development.
• Support the Cyber Security Manager to maintain the CSMS (Cyber Security Management System).
• Act as a single point of accountability for the delivery of the various Cyber Security work products.
• Create and maintain formal documents such as the vehicle TARA and the penetration/software update testing requirements.
• Keep status trackers up to date, showing status of all responsible projects.
• Escalate any major vehicle security risks to the Risk Committee Board for review and action.
• Assist the Homologation team in the preparation of any compliance related documentation.
• Support any business cyber security audits.
• Undertake all duties in line with General Data Protection and maintain utmost level of confidentiality.
• Ensure work is completed to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.
• Ensure that you treat those with whom you come into contact with in a courteous and respectful manner in accordance with the Dignity at Work Procedure.

Cyber Security Engineer Requirements:
Essential:
• BEng Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years electrical / electronics design experience.
• Previous experience in a cyber security development role working in accordance with a relevant international standard.
• Knowledge and experience of working to ISO 21434 requirements for vehicle development.
• Experience of developing vehicle TARAs.
• Experience of preparing penetration and software update test plans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong technical reporting skills.
• Consideration will be given to candidates who have Cybersecurity experience in a non-automotive environment.
Desirable:
• MEng degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of chassis powertrain and driveline systems.
• Knowledge of Electric Vehicle Power Electronics.
• Knowledge of Hybrid Vehicle Power Electrics and control systems.
• Knowledge of traction battery systems.
• Understanding of coding/classification systems, parts listings, BOMs and standardisation.
