The Opportunity
Our client is at the forefront of new technologies across multiple industries with an expanding team of C&I specialists, due to this, they are currently seeking a Principal C&I Engineer to join them on their Carbon Capture, Sustainable Fuels and power station projects.
Remuneration and benefits
Salary: £65k-80k per Anum
This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis from our clients office in Central London. Hybrid working is encouraged with 2 days being from home. In addition to this, you will also enjoy a 9-day fortnight, with every other Friday off!
You must have full right to work in the UK, without requiring VISA sponsorship.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Prepare and check engineering procedures and standards.
Oversight and supervision of:
Discipline basis of design
Discipline Specifications
Data sheets
Requisitions
Technical bid evaluations
Detailed discipline drawings.
Provide technical recommendations on the selection of equipment for Projects.
Check and review vendor proposals, documentation, and drawings.
Participate in project, client, and vendor meetings.
Support input to Construction Sub-contract and evaluate bids
Travel in the UK and overseas, for meetings, equipment testing and site technical support for projectsIt is essential that you have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

You will have the following qualifications & experience
Minimum of degree level engineering qualification with extensive and wide-ranging experience in a design engineering and plant design work environment.
Strong FEED and EPC knowledge.
Demonstrable experience of developing electrical infrastructure associated with petrochemical plants from initial principals to final designs.
Capacity to serve as an area technical lead whilst sharing expertise.
Substantial knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the petrochemical industry.
Significant understanding of hazardous area requirements, DSEAR, ATEX, IEC 60079, API RP 500 & 505 and IP Part 15.
Good experience of working on major FEED and EPC projects in the process industry.
Experience of P&ID reviews, HAZOPs and SIL reviews.
Capacity to develop Specification, Narratives, Cause & Effects, MTOs, etc.
Knowledge of leading multi-office projects.
Some background in working on UK Projects.It’s great if you also have the following
Chartered Engineering status would be advantageousThe setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working in an office. These can include display screen equipment, stress, manual handling, slips, trips and falls, fire and emergency, work equipment and electrical safety and temperature. A full induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the building.
