Location: Northallerton or York (Hybrid Working)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
Rate: £29.25 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
IMH Recruitment is seeking an experienced Financial Controller on behalf of The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority to help establish and develop robust financial processes and reporting for our newly formed organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious organisation at the forefront of delivering significant new powers and funding for the region.
About York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority
* Combines the operations of the North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, the Office of the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
* Is responsible for new powers and funding to support economic development and community growth across York and North Yorkshire.
Your Role as Financial Controller
Reporting to the Director of Resources (DoR), your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the finance aspects of a major, long-term project to integrate systems, processes, and information across the organisation.
* Overseeing the day-to-day provision of financial management advice and support to internal clients and stakeholders.
* Ensuring the organisation maintains best-in-class financial systems and reporting while complying with all regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
* Acting as a bridge between strategic and operational finance, shaping the future of key support functions to underpin deeper devolution and funding flexibility.
* Managing resources currently provided under third-party service level agreements, while implementing systems to support the Combined Authority’s target operating model.
About You
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with:
* Proven experience in financial management and process development.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
* The ability to lead and implement systems integration projects.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to deliver operational results.
