Senior Financial Reporting Accountant
Salary: £55-65k + excellent benefits (travel allowance, bonus scheme, pension, health insurance)

In the UK their Docklands data centre campus facilitates the majority of the London Internet Exchange’s (LINX) capacity, meaning that they support a huge proportion of all UK internet traffic, making their Docklands campus a globally important internet hub.
JOB OVERVIEW
The main purpose of the role is to support the Senior Financial Reporting Manager with ensuring timely and high-quality financial reporting for the Group and that the Group’s tax affairs are effectively managed, founded on a strong financial control environment.
To challenge support and add value to the business in line with the yearly business imperatives and overall growth plans, company values, appropriate legislative context, and Finance best practice.
Key tasks:
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following essential job functions:
To prepare monthly consolidated Financial Statements for group reporting.
To prepare annual group and subsidiary statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP, including supporting files and information for our auditors.
To liaise with external auditors during interim and year end audits, and internal audit teams as and when required.
To liaise with tax advisors to review and support timely filing of annual tax returns.
To maintain transfer pricing and other corporate tax related records to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
To oversee timely submission of VAT returns and compliance.
To deliver continuous process/quality improvements – looking to add value by challenging existing practices and designing, developing and implementing changes to ensure reporting is in line with best practice and adds value.
To provide accurate balance sheet reviews with explanation around key variances month to month.
To prepare and review the monthly balance account reconciliations, and financial schedules that support the financial statements.
To support and continually enhance a robust internal control environment (JSOX compliance).
To maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
To monitor and challenge compliance of financial statements and other regulatory reporting with relevant standards, identifying areas for improvement.
To continually look for opportunities to improve effectiveness of accounting processes and financial reporting.
To support the annual budget process, working closely with Senior Financial Reporting Manager and other areas as deemed necessary.
To keep abreast of all new accounting and reporting regulations and participate in various industry working groups to ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles.
To work closely with other team members, to improve processes and ensure that our team’s goals are met.
Performing any other duties as signed by the Senior Financial Reporting Manager or Finance Director
Essential requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience including some within practice.
Experience of preparing consolidated group accounts and statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
Ability to manage the impact of new or amended accounting standards on the financial reporting of the business.
Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Strong understanding of UK corporation tax requirements including transfer pricing convention.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes.
Strong experience of working with external auditors during year end and interim audits.
Ability to work independently to investigate and resolve day to day issues with minimum guidance.
Organised with excellent time management skills; able to handle competing priorities and work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
Desirable requirements:
Experience of using Oracle ERP or equivalent system.
Experience of working within organisations having quality management systems, cultures of customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Experience of the Data Centre or relevant Telecoms services sector is desirable.
Familiarity with deferred tax and ability to calculate.
Able to complete Goodwill impairment reviews (including calculation of discounted cash flows, weighted cost of capital)
