Commissioning Engineer
Long -term Contract
£30-50 Per Hour
25% Uplift in rate for travel
Must hold EU Passport
Monday to Friday 48 hour per week
Rota: 3 Weeks on 1 week off

An excellent Opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer to work in Europe with a growing Electrical and Mechanical contractor who specialise in the commissioning of Manufacturing facilities.
We are seeking a skilled MV/HV Commissioning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, testing, and implementing various technical systems to ensure optimal performance. The candidate will be required to work abroad (Europe). EU passport required or a visa to allow you to work within Europe. Whilst working abroad you will be entitled to an uplift, along with a food allowance and travel expenses covered from the local airport.
Roles & Responsibilities
Able to lone working;
Work live and switch up to 1000V (up to 11/33KV preferable but not essential. If unable open to learning);
(Enter a Switch Room and recognise if the Asset or Switch Room is safe to work in/on by proving dead through the safe isolation procedure;) need training on mv/hv - lv not a problem - done testing here used here. Understnd test procedure.
Read and interoperate detailed RAMS;
Cross reference part numbers and identify reference/asset issues; - SAP Experience
Perform manual handling activities to manoeuvre and final position switch panel sections into the desired room from delivery point;
Interoperate lifting plans from the delivery driver to set out safe restricted access zones;
Understand room setting out requirements & room layout plans;
Setting up the work site in terms of safety, access and where materials are kept;
Couple LV/MV switch panel sections panel together and fix to the floor;
Install and terminate control cabling;
Torque mechanical and electrical connections;
Critical Clean of LV & MV assets;
Receive Electrical Safety Document (permits);
Perform and record Dead Test results;
Perform Insulation resistance test;
Perform Flash test;
Perform Low Ohms resistance test;
Perform Secondary Injection test;
Perform Primary Injection test;
Configure protection device relay software;
Operate dead Air Circuit Breakers, MCCB's and Fused Isolators for maintenance regimes;
Detailed understanding of overall HV/MV/LV/UPS/ Generator systems integration and fault finding;
Detailed understanding of overall HV/MV/LV/UPS/ Generator control systems and fault finding;
Basic MV/HV system and switching procedure understanding;
Understand, interoperate & troubleshoot Dead test results;
Produce technical and progress reports.
Isolate and apply earth up to and including 33KV (preferable but not essential. If unable open to learning);
Issue electrical limitations off access, sanction to test and permit to work safety documents (preferable but not essential. If unable open to learning);
Prepare Switching Schedules (preferable but not essential. If unable open to learning);
Perform AC test, DC test, VLF test (preferable but not essential. If unable open to learning);

The LV Engineer will at all times act in a manner that reflects and promotes the Company’s mission, vision and values and will not do anything likely to bring themselves or the company into disrepute.
Working Safely and efficiently-
Each operative is responsible for making sure they are working safely and in accordance with their RAMS at all times. They must understand the RAMS when they are briefed to you. You must ensure you are working in an efficient way to keep the productivity of the project moving forwards. This may require forward thinking and potential problem solving in conjunction with your Working Supervisor.
Negative/ Positive reporting
You are expected to report any negative or near miss incidents or hazards you see on site. You are also expected to report any good practices you see on site. You are the eyes and ears on site so we need you to communicate with the wider team. You will always have the support of the entire FiveFour team and of our client for speaking out if you think you see a EHS or quality issue on site.
Professionalism-
You represent the company and our clients on the project. We expect you to maintain a professional and courteous manner at all times. If there are any issues on site we expect you to report this to your working supervisor immediately.
