Job Description

Purpose of Position: Plan & direct implementation, operation, & maintenance of clinical, clinical ancillary, hospital outpatient & medical practice, & patient management (revenue cycle) information systems for Cape Cod Healthcare. Participate in the ITS strategic planning process & develop tactical plans to deliver on ITS components of CCHC strategic objectives. Direct assigned projects, vendor evaluations & selections, feasibility studies, system implementations/upgrades & other activities related to supported information system applications & technologies. Works collaboratively with ITS leadership peers to ensure full collaboration & coordination amongst ITS groups. Seeks to leverage existing technology & identifies use cases for the adoption of new technologies & features. This position interacts with all levels of management throughout the CCHC system & is a key leadership role within the ITS department in its relationships. Description: Direct the activities of the clinical, clinical ancillary, hospital outpatient & medical practice (ambulatory), & patient management (revenue cycle) application teams as related to application development, implementation & support/maintenance, aligning activities with Cape Cod Healthcare strategic & tactical plans. Manage relationships with software vendors & assists with negotiating favorable contract terms for software, professional services, support services & maintenance agreements. Perform CCHC ITS managerial functions, including budgeting, resource scheduling, & personnel recruitment. Maintain an environment of professional growth for ITS staff through development of performance standards, education plans, performance evaluations, performance action plans, & hiring/terminating of staff. Oversee formal triaging & assessment of ITS maintenance tasks, & incident & service requests. Consult with key operational stakeholders & system users to clarify operations, procedural, & information requirements, in order to maximize system utilization & effectively meet customer needs. Coordinate assessments with other ITS functional areas as appropriate. Adhere to established ITS project management methodologies to manage assigned projects including: project charters, project scope, project metrics, communication plans, project plans, change requests, & project review reports. Act as the primary ITS leadership resource to CCHC administration, key operational stakeholders, & other operational staff in the determination of needs & system requirements, service & support levels, & the prioritization of requests; manage ITS staff to support these activities as required to meet objectives & service & support levels. Actively participates & supports CCHC business & clinical function process improvement efforts. Represent ITS on CCHC committees & task forces as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in computer information systems, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline. Master?s degree preferred. Eight years of progressively more responsible related work experience managing the acquisition, development, implementation & support of health care software & related technology. Excellent, proven leadership skills including the ability to lead project teams, build consensus, & mentor ITS managers & staff Schedule Details: Exempt Position, Full-Time, M-F, Occ. Evenings, Weekends, & Occ. Holidays.
