Location : Irvine , CA - 4 days a week from office
Duration : Long Term Contract

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Sr.Cobol Developer.
Experience with Fujitsu NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol desired.
Experience with relational databases required (Sybase a plus).
MQ, Unix and Unix shell scripting a plus.
Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, production support.
Experience in the financial industry with knowledge of trade flow and corporate actions a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills.
Good project management skills.
Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios.
Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines.

Is this role supporting a specific project or initiative, which project or initiative is this role supporting?
- This position is to support the Investment Book of Records development team.
- The candidate will develop and support existing and new functionality for our in-house suite of applications written in Cobol. Responsibilities will include hands-on development, analysis, architect high-end solutions, creation and execution of test plans according to State Street's published Development Process Framework. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to provide production support as necessary.

- Zoom call (Audio & Video)
- 2 to 3 rounds
- SQL/Coding skill test (may apply)

What are the working hours, time zone? What are the schedule requirements (hybrid, remote)?
- Preferably working hours 9:00 am to 6:00 pm - Pacific Standard Time
- At least 4 days a week in the office

What is the duration of this contract and is there a chance it will be extended? : 12 to 18 months

What training will be provided for this contractor and what are first day expectations? : On first day, developer can expect an orientation session, introduction to company policies, and task-specific training. Additional guidance will be provided by team members as part of our onboarding process.

What is the day to day of the person going to look like? Please be specific. : Will get involved in full software development cycle, including analysis, design, writing technical specs, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing and production support.
