Program Description:
Starwood Capital's Internship Program is 9-weeks long and we select a group of highly motivated summer interns with the goal of identifying talent for our Full-time Analyst Program. Our size and structure provides individuals with a high level of responsibility and the unique opportunity to work directly with senior management, joint venture partners, investment bankers, brokers and commercial lenders in all real estate classes. Summer Interns will participate in a variety of specialized trainings that will refine their skills and assist them in transitioning into the professional working environment of Starwood and the investment industry as a whole. A mentorship driven program allows our Summer Interns to create lasting relationships that will support the continued growth of a successful career.

The Analyst will focus primarily on monitoring and reporting asset level performance, identifying operating metric discrepancies and potential issues, and assisting with business plan development and implementation for the hotel asset management team.

Responsibilities:
The Analyst will focus primarily on monitoring and reporting asset level performance, identifying operating metric discrepancies and potential issues, and assisting with business plan development and implementation for the hotel asset management team.
- Conducting monthly P&L reviews to identify variances and supporting asset manager in reversing unfavorable trends
Reviewing booking pace, STR reports, market segmentation and revenue management strategy to ensure topline goals are met
Preparing summaries of key contracts and agreements including loan documents, HMAs, leases, etc - Modeling complex cash flows and partnership structures to report asset performance and prepare quarterly valuations to Starwood Select Service Asset Management executive team
- Researching competitive properties and real estate markets and providing asset performance analysis based on market conditions
- Interacting with management partners to effectively identify asset performance issues and collectively determine successful action plans
- Assisting with underwriting potential real estate and structured finance acquisitions
- Monitoring capital improvement plans and any potential revenue displacement
- Tracking and identifying opportunities to improve guest satisfaction experiences and online reputation
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
- Development and/or real estate cash flow modeling experience
- Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
- A true self-starter capable of accomplishing complicated tasks with limited supervision
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student
- Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2025 - Spring 2026
