Litigation Attorney
Job Location
Job Description
ElevateNext is recruiting a California-licensed litigator to work remotely on litigation matters and research for our customers. Candidates must be licensed to practice and in good standing in California.
Matters may include general litigation and discovery, and potentially regulatory and compliance issues. ElevateNext is affiliated with global law company Elevate which allows us to work with a global team of professionals to apply the most cutting-edge technology and processes to our matters. Our offering (law firm + law company) was specifically designed to meet the modern needs of our customers who must do more with less, and who have determined that using traditional outside counsel or handling routine work in-house is no longer ideal.
Specifically, you will
- Assist customers with litigation and discovery-related matters.
- May assist in litigation not just in California, but across the country.
- Assist in responding to issues raised to client's law department regarding a variety of matters impacting the client's business.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in litigation preferred.
- Motion practice and deposition experience a plus.
- Strong legal research and writing skills required.
- Experience drafting and responding to written discovery requests.
- Ability to handle day-to-day aspects of litigation matters.
- Familiarity with auto-financing and consumer protection regulations is a plus.
Skills for Success
- Like the sound of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment for a quickly growing company in an expanding new services market.
- Think legal services should embrace business models and processes to create measurable, cost-effective results.
- Like working with multinational companies, spanning different markets and industries.
- Embrace the use of technology tools to facilitate your work.
- Are knowledge focused rather than task focused; understand the importance of capturing and re-using information.
- Work well independently as well as with teams.
- Are the kind of person who can be relied upon to get things done.
- Can work effectively from a home office or a remote work environment.
- High integrity and ethical compass.
- Are flexible, and willing to pitch in on matters and projects to better serve our customers, even if the work falls outside your normal scope of duties.
- Can act independently executing good judgment, but also not afraid to ask questions and work within internal and customer teams.
- Excellent writing skills, particularly depicting complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Professionalism in both verbal and written work.
- Excellent listening as well as communication skills, and the judgment to know which skill to use in a given setting.
- Ability to own mistakes and learn from them.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with California Civil Procedure required.
- Experience with Microsoft products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience with contract management, reporting, or workflow software tools is a plus.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in CA required.
Compensation
- US national salary range: $90,000 - $150,000, based on job-related skills, experience, level, and location. In addition, Elevate offers full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package and PTO.
