Job Description

Position Purpose
The Production Trainer is responsible for providing job specific training for manufacturing positions as well as limited office roles. The trainer will also be responsible to assist with creating training programs, planning, delivering and assessing the organizations training requirements. The role will also be responsible for the administration and management of the training programs to ensure that the programs are effective and deliver effective results in line with organizations values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review, assess and identify the training needs for production floor employees
  • Maintain and sustain a robust production onboarding program for production employees to include job specific training
  • Assist with in class training for all onboarding employees to include new hire orientation and on the job training
  • Assist with creating training programs and activities for new hires as well as current employees
  • Assisting employees in the process of improving or enhancing their existing skills
  • Collaborate training programs to ensure that creative, interactive, programs are created
  • Maintain correct and accurate training record
  • Collect, analyze and adopt feedback from employees regarding the effectiveness of training methods
  • Create and post training communication on internal announcement boards and/or email
  • Responsible for assigning new hires to on-the-job trainers and managing leveling up process for new hires and current employees
  • Responsible for requesting SAP credentials for all new hires and training how to access SAP tiles
  • Conduct audits for SAP processing, daily and/or as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Good analytical, management, and decision-making skills which enable the Production Trainer to efficiently assess training needs and recommend the right solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, since the Production Trainer is required to communicate with trainees and the management team, and also make presentations and gather reports or feedback
  • Good interpersonal skills, as a trainer is required to work effectively with colleagues, trainees, and management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and other training and presentation software programs or applications
  • An adequate understanding of the principles that are involved in a good training program
Qualifications / Prior Experience
  • 1-3 Years of proven work experience as a trainer OR any appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing environment
  • SAP Knowledge is preferred but not required
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Somali is preferred
Work Environment / Other Requirements
  • Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, telephone, computer)
  • Must be able to talk/hear/sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to effectively train employees on newly created programs and/or existing programs
  • Ability to lift 25lbs occasionally
