Job Description

The IT Systems Product Manager (PM) solves organizational information problems by ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope. The PM additionally has responsibilities related to analyzing requirements, designing systems, improving processes, and recommending system controls and protocols. The PM works closely with internal and external clients to provide efficient and effective technical support and deployment of products to solve organizational information problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects by assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives and involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Define project scope and deliverable requirements by developing project milestones, phases, and elements, establishing project resources, and proposing an overall project budget.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activities, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and coordinating with project participants to identify and recommend approaches/actions to keep project on track regarding scope, deliverables, timeline, and budget.
  • Design, develop, manage, and simplify workflow processes by creating, redesigning, and integrating complex organizational systems.
  • Gain full understanding of operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Design and develop computer programs after analyzing requirements, performing planning (constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing specifications, etc.), evaluating resource availability, and gaining approval to proceed from over-site committees.
  • Provide technical training and training materials for company systems.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing, and maintaining personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  • Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware within the system.
  • Define vision for product usage and implementation, prioritizing product features and capabilities to solve organizational information problems.
  • Work cross-functionally with design and technology teams to ensure timely and quality release of product/ enhancements. Additionally, work with vendors to install, configure, and test system enhancements.
  • Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation to release, including requirement gathering, feature definition, development, and project management.
Qualifications:
  • Degree Required (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, IS preferred)
  • Expert knowledge and experience in the following key skill areas: Project Management, User Interface Development, Database ETL, Implementation, Security, and Cloud systems
  • Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, O365, Azure, and Power Platform (Certification is a plus)
  • Knowledge of and experience with business automation and scripting tools and languages
  • Experience in taking complex information and business processes and streamlining to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and requests concurrently
  • Ability to effectively deliver clear, concise communication
  • Demonstrated effective interaction in a variety of formal/informal meeting/ presentation settings, including one-on-one, small, and large groups
  • Ability to excel as a team player daily
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to be a self-starter
