SQL Database Administrator

Job Title : SQL Server DBA. Location : Bangalore (Onsite). Shift Timings : Night shift (8:30 pm - 5:30 am). Experience : Minimum 6-8 years with MS SQL Server. Job Description : We are looking to hire a talented MS-SQL Server Database Administrator to manage a large enterprise Oracle database system. - The candidate should be conversant with SQL Server database installation, patch up upgrade, storage structure, backup and recovery policy. - Planning and scheduling maintenance activities and executing the same across enterprise level. - User creation, defining backup policy, creating and maintaining stored procedures and other database objects. - Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. - Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users and DBA team. - Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards. - Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. - Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. - As needed, implement approved database configurations / corrections to mitigate points database performance / connectivity due to planned or unplanned incidents. - Regularly maintain database security policies. - Automate database jobs and increase efficiency of the system. - Identifying RCA for specific incidents. - Perform performance analysis and tuning of database. - Communicate effectively with internal and external audiences with varying levels of technical expertise. Profile : - Strong experience in MS-SQL Server 2000,2005,2008,2010,2012,2016,2019 database administration. - Deployment experience. - Must have work experience on Windows OS with PowerShell, Batch scripting. - Install, patch and maintain all MS-SQL Server software. - Tune all SQL Server instance components including SQL. - Control all migrations of SQL Server schema objects. - Implement SQL Server always on technology and maintain the same. Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data. - Good to have Netbackup exposure i.e SQL Server backup configuration and troubleshooting from DB side. - Tools : SSIS, SSRS. - Adherence to Change management process for any configuration as per organizational policies. - Advantage MySQL or DB2 skill or both. - Good to have database automation experience.
