Job Description
City: Fano Location: Fano, IT, 61032 Contract Type: Permanent Division: Energy Engineering Solutions Level of experience: Junior RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Pipeline Engineer to join its office in Fano (Italy) within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division. Mission The Junior Pipeline Engineer is responsible for assisting in technical engineering activities related to the design, evaluation, and certification of both new and existing pipelines in accordance with project requirements. This role supports the completion of activities within assigned budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Key Accountabilities Pipeline Design, Engineering Studies, and Analyses Assist with engineering studies and analyses for pipeline design. Contribute to various levels of design and consulting tasks, including feasibility studies, hydraulic analysis, stress analysis, risk assessment, concept selection, material selection, basic and detailed design, FEED, and cost estimation. Identify optimal pipeline routes by assessing topography, geotechnical conditions, and land use, while minimizing environmental impact. Perform pipeline routing optimization. Documentation and Specifications Prepare engineering documents, including design reports, material specifications, data sheets, MTOs, drawings, construction and testing specifications, and requisitions. Ensure that technical documentation meets quality standards and support the update of RINA’s standards. Client and Team Interaction Communicate with clients to understand project requirements, present design proposals, and address concerns or modifications. Implement design changes as needed and update the Pipeline Senior Engineer on project progress. Construction Support Provide support during the construction phase to address any design-related issues, ensuring compliance with approved designs. Assist the Pipeline Senior Engineer or Pipeline Principal Engineer in resolving technical issues. Perform and verify analyses and calculation reports required for complete pipeline design. Review and respond to client feedback and comments from certifying bodies. Third-Party and Subcontractor Coordination Review and control subcontractor engineering documents. Conduct independent reviews or analyses for both new and existing pipelines during third-party evaluations. Monitor third-party and subcontractor engineering activities. Proposals and Technical Papers Support and prepare technical and commercial proposals. Contribute to the development of technical papers, rules, and guidelines. Reporting Report to the Pipeline Senior Engineer on project progress and challenges. Innovation and Optimization Explore new technologies and methodologies to optimize pipeline design and construction processes. Regulatory Compliance Ensure pipeline design complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and codes. Education Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Qualifications Previous experience in pipeline engineering is a plus but not required. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for pipeline design and construction is beneficial. Exposure to structural design and installation analysis software is a plus but not essential.
