BOSS Energy Consulting Ltd – Head of Engineering

BOSS Energy has been retained by a leading carbon capture company seeking to hire a Head of Engineering to join their German office. They are seeking a well-rounded individual to help them achieve the aims to capture 1,000 gigatons of CO2 by 2030. This role will assist with their next steps in realization of the first prototype plant.

Responsibilities:

• Your task is to use your experience in plant implementation to lead our development to technically and economically optimized overall solutions
• You develop and plan production processes for the manufacturing of our ultra-thin membranes
• You integrate membrane modules into larger systems to ensure optimal performance and high productivity
• You develop a strong partner network in the field of plant engineering
• Together with management, you define scale-up strategies for our technology and our plant scope
• You supervise and manage the production processes at contract manufacturers and suppliers
• You will provide technical support to our sales team in positioning our client to penetrate the target market for the removal of CO2 from incineration plants.
• You promote internal awareness of the customer and market perspective, and you advocate for customer-oriented processes in planning and implementation.

About you:

• Degree as an engineer with professional experience, preferably in management or project management functions in the field of engineering/product development or processing for complex process plants
• You have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related discipline and a good commercial understanding.
• You have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of process engineering and experience with process simulation programs (e.g. Aspen HYSYS)
• In-depth knowledge of membrane technology, especially graphene membranes, mass production techniques and quality assurance would be very advantageous
• You are creative, reliable, willing to perform and have a structured working style.
• You are determined, analytical, strategically strong and a good negotiator, with an entrepreneurial mindset
• You are fluent in English and German.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design and drawing as well as Python or similar programming skills are an advantage; proficiency in MS Office is required
