Traffic Engineer

£38.00 per hour (umbrella rate)
A leading South London Local Authority is seeking an Interim Traffic Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of traffic, transport, and parking-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet the high-quality standards set by the Council.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and execute projects, tasks, and functions related to Traffic and Highway Services, ensuring adherence to the Council's targets and quality benchmarks.
Oversee various traffic, transport, and parking-related schemes, including but not limited to traffic calming initiatives, school streets projects, cycle improvements, and local safety measures.
Assist in the formulation, monitoring, and management of budgets for projects and programs undertaken by the Traffic and Highway Services.
Prepare comprehensive reports, including cabinet reports, briefing documents, and proofs of evidence. Additionally, efficiently address correspondence related to less intricate issues.
Design, develop, and implement traffic, transport, and parking-related schemes, ensuring thorough consultation with stakeholders and the community.
Essential Experience:
Proven experience in managing projects, tasks, and functions within Traffic and Highway Services, ensuring they meet quality and target standards.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial compliance within projects and programs.
Strong report writing skills with experience in creating cabinet reports, briefing documents, and proofs of evidence.
Proficiency in conceptualising, planning, and delivering traffic, transport, and parking schemes, with a focus on stakeholder consultation and community engagement.
