Maintenance Engineer

Job Description
Maintenance Engineer
Location: Boulby
£46,445 + OT (1.5x & 2x)
Here’s the deal:
You’ll be joining a close-knit engineering team that keeps a busy 24/5 production operation running smoothly. The team? There’s five of them already – you’ll be number six. It's a stable, family-owned business with over 220 employees, but it still feels small and personal. No corporate nonsense here.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be hands-on, maintaining machinery on the shop floor. The maintenance schedule is comprehensive, so you won’t be constantly fire-fighting – it’s more about keeping things running like clockwork. Sure, there’s some reactive work, but it’s mostly planned.
You’ll get involved in installations too –power installations and some general electrical work. They’ll even support you with training if you haven’t got your 18th yet but are experienced electrically.
Shifts are on rotation, covering early starts, afternoons, and nights, but the pattern will change once you’re settled in.
Why apply?
£46,445 salary with annual increases – everyone gets this, no exceptions.
Overtime? Yep. Saturdays at 1.5x, Sundays at 2x.
A family-owned business that actually cares about its people. Christmas hampers, Summer parties (With your family too!), proper workwear, and all the tools you need.
A straightforward, no-nonsense interview process – just a chat with the manager and a couple of team members. No trick questions.
Long-term stability – the Engineering Manager who’s been running the department started as an apprentice 20 years ago.
About you:
Solid experience in maintenance, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
Located near Boulby – the commute matters to them. They’ve seen people burn out from long journeys, and they want someone who can stick around for the long haul.
Got your 18th edition (or close to it)? Great, but if not, they’ll invest in putting you through the course.
The extras:
The team’s good. They don’t micromanage, and they let you get on with your job. Plus, there’s room to grow into senior roles, though to be fair, the guys at the top have been there a while and aren’t going anywhere soon.
Interested?
They’re looking to fill this role fast, so if you’re ready to join a business that values its people and offers proper stability, hit apply
