Role Overview
The Business Development Director will lead strategic growth efforts, targeting and developing new business relationships across the UK and international markets. This role will involve identifying and securing new opportunities, building long-term partnerships with manufacturers and governmental defense and naval divisions, and positioning our solutions as integral to mission success.
Key Responsibilities
• Market Expansion: Identify and target new business opportunities within aerospace, defense, naval, and space sectors in both UK and international markets.
• Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture strategic relationships with key manufacturers, defense, and naval divisions, ensuring long-term business alignment and growth.
• Opportunity Development: Lead the entire business development lifecycle from opportunity identification and qualification to proposal and contract negotiations.
• Sales Strategy: Design and execute sales strategies to enter new markets and drive revenue growth across the target sectors.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product development, and project management teams to ensure that client needs are met and that solutions are tailored to industry requirements.
• Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to refine our market positioning and value propositions.
• Representing the Brand: Serve as an ambassador at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings, showcasing our advanced technology and building the company’s reputation within the aerospace and defense ecosystem.
Required Skills and Experience
• Proven Track Record: 10+ years of experience in business development or sales roles within aerospace, defense, naval, or related sectors, with a focus on electronic systems or advanced technology solutions.
• International Experience: Demonstrated experience in developing international markets, especially within aerospace and defense, with an understanding of market entry strategies.
• Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of building and maintaining relationships with high-profile stakeholders, including manufacturers and governmental divisions.
• Technical Acumen: Ability to understand and communicate complex technical solutions and their applications in aerospace, defense, naval, and space sectors.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills, capable of closing complex deals.
• Self-Starter: Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset
