At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic componentsand wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reliability Engineer to join GKN's largest Uk manufacturing Site in Filton. The successful applicant will play an integral part within a strong maintenance team of approximately 30 current employees. The maintenance team service and repair complex 4 & 5 axis machining centres and FMS systems producing complex aero structure parts for Airbus, BAE systems, they aim to provide world class leading service and the platform for class leading OEE. The team provides a diverse range of mechanical and electronic capabilities and implement on going continuous improvements to keep the IMF at the forefront of machining technology.

How You'll Contribute
  • Leading the reliability management program continually reviewing equipment data to identify opportunities to improve the technical strategy
  • Performing Root Cause Analysis
  • Participation in capital projects to ensure that reliability and availability are specifically addressed this can be on a weekly, monthly & yearly basis on different projects
  • Leading partnerships with Engineering, Maintenance and Manufacturing to facilitate cross-functional problem-solving
  • Monitoring of failures to identify root causes and implementing appropriate actions
  • Organisation and indirect leadership of Criticality Assessment and Risk Based Maintenance analysis (FMECA/RCM/REM) teams
  • Identification of design-out opportunities and action to evaluate these and implement cost-justifiable actions
  • Initiation and implementation of changes to PMs when appropriate
  • Provision of training as needs are identified, including Root Cause Failure Analysis training for maintenance technicians and others as required
What You'll Bring

To help us make a difference, youll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential:

  • A strong team player with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Higher national certificate or ONC in Electrical or mechanical engineering with 5 years minimum experience within an engineering environment preferably machine tools.
  • Strong analytic capabilities, ability to transfer data into excel & communicate to all levels.
  • Understanding of Siemens & Fanuc controls, PLC programming & fault finding.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve in a changing environment

Desirable:

  • Experience within an aerospace production environment.
