Who You Are

• A qualified social worker with a CQSW, DipSW, or other SWE-recognized social work qualification. A current SWE certificate is required for all staff in this role.


• Possess a thorough understanding of the legislative framework, current professional practice issues, and quality assurance in social care.


• Have advanced IT skills and a comprehensive understanding of IT systems used in social care.


• Committed to the TOWER Values, demonstrating excellent relationship building, accountability, transparency, and an understanding of diverse communities.


• Demonstrate personal development and motivation, actively supporting well-being within the organization.


• Able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

What the Job Involves

• Providing leadership and management of social workers, advanced practitioners, contact supervisors, and support staff in the Family Support and Child Protection team.


• Ensuring a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and families by delivering high-standard social work interventions and safeguarding practices.


• Managing and overseeing service quality standards, efficient deployment of resources, and budget control within the allocated team area.


• Promoting equality and sustainability, and collaborating with other key agencies such as health, education, and housing.


• Strategically leading and contributing to the operational management of services in accordance with agreed national and local standards.


• Developing methods for securing effective support from relevant services like HR and finance while maintaining strategic priorities.


• Creating a team development plan, monitoring performance to meet Ofsted standards, and leading by example through the TOWER behaviors.


• Participating actively in the Service Management Team, contributing to the council’s strategic priorities, and deputizing for your manager when required.
