Job Description
We’re looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join a fast-paced engineering firm in Bredbury, Stockport.
This role is perfect for someone who loves turning challenges into opportunities, with plenty of room to grow and develop your skills in a supportive environment.
What’s on offer?
* £28,000 - £30,000 per year
* Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:45pm
* Early finish on Fridays
* Employee pension scheme
* 28 days holiday
* Relaxed environment with the opportunity to progress
What will you be doing as a Purchasing Assistant?
* Managing purchase orders and administration
* Reviewing purchasing needs and placing orders with suppliers
* Logging orders on supplier websites and processing purchase orders (PO)
* Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers for best price, product availability, and delivery times
* Answering phone queries and providing general administrative support
What do you need?
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
* Strong Excel skills
* Experience with Pegasus Opera (preferred, not essential)
* Good communication and negotiation skills
