Our client is one of the largest independently owned Building Services Consulting Engineers across the North of England. With 3 strategically placed offices ensuring local coverage to the Yorkshire, North West and North East regions, this industry leading M&E practice delivers projects nationwide for a wide range of private and public sector customers. Offering full Mechanical & Electrical design services alongside a sustainability team which covers low-energy design and decarbonisation advice, the business is well-placed to advise on projects of all sizes and complexities. Due to the expansion of the MEP team, they are looking for a Senior Electrical Designer to join their team.
Location: Manchester (City Centre)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on the experience)

The purpose of the Role:
As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will play a crucial role in the development of not just the Manchester office, but the wider delivery ability of the MEP Team. You will be a 'Lead Engineer' and a project manager, entrusted with project delivery and expected to demonstrate both leadership and technical excellence. The lean management structure of the company will certainly appeal to those who enjoy responsibility and project ownership. You will be encouraged to be creative and help advance current systems and practices, evaluating what works and how processes could be improved and finetuned. Essential Skills and Experience:
* A minimum of 5 years UK building services experience
* Sound technical knowledge in Electrical Engineering Design and knowledge of current standards and legislations.
* Proficiency in electrical calculation software packages (Amtech, Dialux, Relux), AutoCAD. Experience working in the BIM environment (REVIT)
* Hold responsibility for requirements gathering, designing electrical systems, load calculations, equipment selection, project management and coordination
* Good all-around project/management leadership skills and problem-solving techniques.
* Excellent Team working and communication skills.
