Planning Lawyer

Planning Lawyer. 4+ PQE. 12 month FTC.

Our client, an international law firm, is looking for an experienced planning lawyer to join their highly ranked planning team, for an assignment of 12 months in duration. The assignment is to start ASAP. Whilst the initial contract is for 12 months in duration, there is the potential for further extension and/or permanency.

The planning team is highly ranked within the UK legal directories (and has been for a couple of decades). They have advised on some of the largest development and infrastructure schemes in the UK across a full range of asset classes to include tall buildings; major infrastructure; transport; mixed-use development; retail, leisure and residential driven regeneration, and multi-arena sports facilities.

The team advise on all aspects of planning and highways law, procurement, compulsory purchase, state aid, best value and judicial review, historic preservation, environmental review of discretionary land use actions and related issues.

In joining the team, the successful individual can expect to work closely with a number of market leading Partners, and gain exposure to high quality work.

Successful lawyers are likely to:

• Be qualified in England & Wales or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia and New Zealand, for example)
• Possess upwards of 4 years’ PQE in handling a wealth of planning matters
• Have gained experience from other top tier city or regional teams
• Have a sharp eye for detail
• Be genuinely interested in furthering their planning career in a top tier team
• Have the capacity to commit to a 12 month fixed term contract.

The firm has a hybrid working policy, with lawyers spending 3 days per week in the London office.
