About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team! A specialist in Data centre design consultancy. This role is ideal for a design-oriented professional with strong expertise in public health engineering and a background in water distribution systems. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical designs using advanced tools like Revit, ensuring projects meet technical and regulatory standards.
Although we specialize in data centre projects, no prior data centre experience is required. We value a diverse range of project backgrounds and will provide all the necessary training and support for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design: Lead the design of mechanical systems for various projects, with a particular emphasis on water distribution, drainage, and public health systems.
- Public Health Engineering: Develop and implement strategies for water supply, drainage, sanitation, and fire suppression systems. Ensure that designs comply with local standards and best practices.
- Revit Modelling: Utilize Revit to produce and manage high-quality 3D models, ensuring accurate design documentation and clash detection.
- Calculations & Analysis: Perform detailed calculations for mechanical and public health systems, including water flow rates, pressure loss, pipe sizing, and load assessments.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team, reviewing work for quality assurance and offering technical advice.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements, present design concepts, and address any technical concerns.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is desirable.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on public health systems.
- Proficiency in Revit is essential, with a portfolio demonstrating your capability in 3D modelling and coordination.
- Solid understanding of Water distribution systems, including calculations for flow rates, pressures, and pipe sizing.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience performing detailed engineering calculations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
