Real Estate Debt Analyst

Job Description
We have been mandated on behalf of commercial real estate lender, based in London, who are looking to recruit an analyst into their debt origination team. The firm focuses on middle market loans in Europe, working across assets classes and jurisdictions.
They are keen to hire a real estate debt analyst to join their team and support in deploying commercial real estate loans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical support in underwriting, evaluating, and structuring real estate debt solutions for sponsors across Europe.
- Provide analysis and support across the lifecycle of the transaction, from origination, underwriting, due diligence review and transaction execution.
- Analysis includes modeling cash flows, engaging due diligence including commercial valuation, conducting industry and sector market research, preparing initial memos for preliminary assessment and investment committee memos ahead of final approval prior to funding.
- Present financing opportunities to deal team and investment committee and provide post-closing support for ongoing asset management responsibilities.
- Work closely with the leadership of the business - in executing the European real estate lending strategy and pipeline for the European markets.
Background:
- Strong academic credentials from a leading, internationally regarded university / business school
- 1-4 years real estate debt or real estate equity experience and ideally the ability to structure, present high value deals and execute effectively
- Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in an agile professional and growing team of high achievers
- Strong financial modeling, analysis and research skills (strong excel skills are essential)
- Relevant work experience & track record, likely gained within a real estate debt fund, investment bank, real estate private equity shop or possibly a real estate consultancy with a European footprint
- Working with high levels of autonomy the successful individual will need to be self-motivated with intellectual curiosity and passion to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player with professional work attitude
- London based (some travel in Europe required)
- Additional European languages are desirable.
