The Commercial Assistant reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Finance Director, the Commercial Director, and the Head of US & International Development. The Assistant will need to be comprehensive, professional, and proactive for administrative and operational support to the team, assisting with scheduling, project coordination, research, and communication. You will play a keep role in keeping the team organised, supporting various projects from STV Studio’s producing labels, and helping to ensure the smooth flow of information within the department.


The Commercial Assistant should be highly organised, proactive, and have experience of working in a fast-paced environment where forward thinking and creativity are valued.


Key responsibilities


Administrative Support

  • Manage and oversee duties of Office Assistant to ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel/accommodating for team, and occasionally assisting with personal schedules.
  • Prepare agendas, materials, and presentations for meetings.
  • Organize and maintain files, documents, and records for easy access by the team, including Project Updates Grid, treatments and assets in Dropbox folders, Vimeo, etc.
  • Answer telephones and screen calls. Join calls when appropriate and take notes.
  • Maintain and update a record of STV’s online accounts e.g., Trainline, Addison Lee, Vodafone etc.


Project Coordination

  • Assist ahead of key markets (including Realscreen, MIPTV, MIPCOM, etc) and business trips by gathering, saving, and sharing pitch materials.
  • Track and log the progress of various projects, helping ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist in preparing status updates, summaries, and status grid for outgoing and incoming pitches, projects, development and productions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and STV’s producing partners on a daily basis.
  • Alongside the Social Committee, organise and plan STV team building events, celebrations, and Christmas parties.
  • Assist in any other aspects of the work of the company as reasonably required.

Skills and experience


  • Demonstrable related industry experience gained within either a talent agency, production company, or media network is a desirable.
  • Genuine interest in international formats, content trends, competitive programming, and industry news.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Dropbox, Vimeo, Teams).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for TV, media, and entertainment.
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Proven experience of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and good judgement is essential.
