Your new role
Due to an increase in their workload, they are now looking for a Design Co-ordinator to join the design team supporting the team with the increase in workload from a variety of key clients, including the Environment Agency, Highways England and local authorities. As a result of design and build civil engineering schemes now becoming more common, coupled with projected workload, they are seeking a Design Co-ordinator to strengthen their busy design management team.
Duties to include:
- Attending meetings with clients, including presenting, and discussing design ideas and solutions.
- Preparation of design documents, briefs, reports, and management plans.
- Development and management of design programmes.
- Reviewing design documents for compliance with scheme requirements, utilising gained knowledge and experience to advise on buildability and value engineering opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Good collaborative communication skills and programming software skills.
- Must have an engineering background which allows you to envisage how schemes are built, for example at experienced Senior Engineer, Sub Agent, Site Agent or Site Manager level.
- Understanding of the need to work to accepted design processes, procedures, guidance, codes and standards and common construction specifications.
- General understanding of common construction specifications and ideally an engineering background which allows you to envisage how schemes are built.
