Job Location

Lymington, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are a fast-growing property company specialising in telecommunications, with a headquarters in Lymington, Hampshire. As we expand, we are looking for our first standalone Head of People to join our team and shape the future of HR within our business.

We’re seeking someone who is comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll need to be hands-on, ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved in everything from high-level strategy to day-to-day administration.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to make a real impact and help our business thrive as we grow, this could be the perfect role for you.

Who We Are

We are an independent wireless telecommunications infrastructure company. Our mission is to be the best provider of wireless connectivity in the world. We partner with mobile network operators and landlords to design, install, finance, and manage wireless networks that deliver exceptional connectivity.

With over 15 years in the industry, we’ve grown through recent acquisitions and now have around 100 employees across multiple locations, including the UK and Spain. While our core operations are based in Lymington, we also have offices in Otley, Milton Keynes, Manchester, London and Spain.

Despite our growth, we remain a family-led, entrepreneurial company with a strong culture where people thrive. The majority of our management team has grown from within the company.

About the Role

As our first dedicated Head of People, you’ll report directly to our COO and join the management team.

We’re looking for someone who can support the growth and development of our people.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Manager Coaching: Many of our managers are new to leadership roles. You’ll provide coaching and guidance, helping them grow and manage their teams effectively, rather than solving problems for them.
  • Learning & Development: You’ll review our current practices and develop strategies to enhance our employee learning experience.
  • Recruitment: Our recruitment process is currently led by line managers and supported by agencies. We’re looking for someone who can streamline and elevate this process, bringing consistency and innovation.
  • Compensation & Performance Management: Refine our goal-based bonus system, benchmark salaries, and ensure fair rewards to drive performance and keep employees motivated.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention: While we have a strong culture and high retention, we know there’s room to improve. You’ll use feedback from our recent engagement survey to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Career Development: With a flat organisational structure, we need to create clearer career pathways as we continue to grow. You’ll be instrumental in designing and implementing these development opportunities.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure our policies and procedures are up to date, legally compliant, and aligned with best practices.

Why This Role?

This is a unique opportunity for someone who’s ready to step up and make a lasting impact. We’re not looking for the finished article – we value potential, creativity, and the desire to grow with us. If you’re passionate about shaping an HR function and helping to build an environment where people thrive, this could be the perfect role for you.

We offer:

  • A competitive base salary of £70,000.00 – £90,000.00
  • Up to 20% bonus, paid quarterly
  • Private healthcare
  • 27 days annual leave
  • The chance to lead and develop people strategies in a dynamic and fast-growing environment

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is excited about shaping our approach to everything from hiring and onboarding to training, development and company culture.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Confident working in a dynamic and growing company
  • Strong in recruitment, onboarding, and overall employee experience
  • Comfortable working independently in a standalone role
  • A team player who can roll up their sleeves and get involved in the details
  • A coach and mentor to leaders, helping them navigate people challenges and build confidence

Location & Flexibility

This role is based in our Lymington office with the flexibility to work from home up to 1-2 days per week. While we support hybrid working, we believe being present in the office is key to maintaining our strong culture, so this role wouldn’t suit someone looking for a primarily hybrid/remote position.

Process

  • Stage 1: Online Assessment (5 mins)
  • Stage 2: Motivational Alignment Interview via Zoom (20 mins)
  • Stage 3: Strengths-Based Interview – Face to Face (60 mins)

Next Steps

We’re keen to talk to anyone interested in this role, regardless of whether you meet every requirement. If you’re passionate about making an impact and excited by the opportunity to grow with us, we’d love to hear from you.

In addition to your CV, please provide a 200-340 word statement identifying the area among the seven key focuses outlined in the job description that you are most passionate about and excited to work on, as well as the area you feel less comfortable with.
